Location
Tumbarumba is the western gateway to the Australian Alps , otherwise
known as the Snowy
Mountains . This
dry cool climate produces excellent quality blueberries.
Most of the harvest season is through the month of January. The mean
daily maximum at this time of the year is 28 degrees C while the mean
daily minimum is 12 degrees C. Mean monthly rainfall for January is 63mm.
It must be noted that these are only means.
The local area is very picturesque with beautiful mountain views,
streams and attractive landscape.
Transport to Tumbarumba other than by car is train to Cootamundra, (State
Rail phone 132232) and bus to Tumbarumba.
